Richie Innamorato of the Broadway Ultra Society (BUS) has provided some insights to the plans for the coming year. Quoting:
"I still hope to have a 2011 BUS season... A mailing will be distributed (in mid-February) ... (and) will have more info about the 2011 schedule and membership."
"The first BUS event will probably be Saturday, April 2. It will be a 6-hour or a 50K. I do not know at this time where it would be... the objective is to combine the NYUR Awards Distribution and an ultra event at the same time."

Last Year this race had to be cancelled... but it has always been a favorite of mine. Its pleasant course is a perfect training run for Fall races (like the NYC Marathon).
Give us your feedback, ideas, etc. maybe we can bring it back for 2011.

Fellow trail/ultra runner Michael Oliva has started an interactive site to communicate about training runs, events in the area. Quoting Michael: "I felt there was a need for a central and interactive web site where people could find locally led trail and ultra runs so I decided to put this group together. The site is free and it’s a great way to find training partners and explore new trails. I hope you can check it out and join!" www.meetup.com/New-York-Trail-Ultrarunning/Check it out... and tell us what you think.

There have recently been some really great "runner organized" trail events in VanCortlandt Park, with more to come. See www.theholidaymarathons.com/ for details and plans. If you were part of any of these events, give feedback please.
